| QUOTE BUSTERS |
Got a quote and want us to beat it? Well, we most likely can!* |
E-mail us the quote for a stay or tour anywhere in southern Africa and we will try to beat it, without ever compromising on service or quality! |
| *Some reasons we can’t beat a quote:
1. Your tour operator has closed an incredibly sharp deal with a certain provider that will even blow our minds; in that case we congratulate you!;
2. Your “budget accommodation” turns out to be the shoddiest hotel in town (although unlikely, we will let you know if that’s the case);
3. You are staying with family or friends in return for doing their dishes (we will never ask that from you!).
Otherwise there is a pretty good chance the zebra can save you a few bucks…So who you gonna e-mail?

Namibia
Red sandy dunes, ancient deserts, great game parks and picturesque towns. With about 2 people per square kilometer of land, Namibia is the second lowest populated country in the world (after Mongolia). However, the Namibians consist of a fascinating kaleidoscope of different cultures. Namibia is a real paradise for adrenaline junkies, deep sea fishermen, 4x4 enthusiasts, wildlife photographers and honeymooners alike. Come and experience this gem in the wilderness. |

HIGHLIGHTS |
FISH RIVER CANYON The largest canyon in Africa offers unrivalled panoramic views. The more adventurous can embark on a five day hike in the canyon. |
WALVISBAY The “bay of whales” is also a fantastic place to go on a dolphin cruise ride, an unforgettable experience. |
AUS The southern town of Aus is mostly known for its wild horses. Watch the “mustangs” from behind blinds, while they drink from the Waterhole. |
SPITZKOPPE The “Matterhorn of Namibia” not only offers spectacular mountain sceneries, its granite rocks also contain some very impressive, ancient rock art by the Khoisan. |
KOLMANSKOP/KOLMANSKUPPE Walk through this fascinating ghost town, knee-deep in sand. Once a flourishing diamond mining community, built in German style, it is now a popular tourist attraction in the south of Namibia. |
TWYFELFONTEIN Namibia’s first and only World Heritage Site displays some mysterious rock engravings made in a period that spans over thousand years. |
DAMARALAND This former ‘homeland’ in northern Namibia is home to the (Ova)Herero tribe. Here you can also go on a tracking safari to the rare black rhino or try to spot the desert elephant in its natural habitat at the Ugab river. |
KUNENE Visit the secluded (Ova)Himba people in former Kaokoland. The Himba women still traditionally cover their bodies and hair in red ochre. |

Infrastructure/roads Namibia’s main airport is Hosea Kutako International, a little east of Windhoek. From South Africa you can take the N7 along the West Coast or the N16 from Upington in the Northern Cape. You can travel to or from Botswana using the Trans-Kalahari Highway (B6 from Windhoek). The country has very excellent primary roads (marked with B-numbers). The B1 runs from the border post of Vioolsdrif in South Africa to Angola in the north. Even the gravel roads are generally very accessible. However try to maintain a maximum speed of 60 km/h on these. Try to avoid travelling at night because of animals crossing the road and some stretches might not be properly lit. Only a few parts of the country, notably the Skeleton Coast Park, are only/best accessible by 4x4. |

Climate "Arid" pretty much sums the climate of Namibia. The sparse rainfall (during summer months) is caused by the cool Benguala sea current. In general summers can be very hot with temperatures reaching over 40 degrees Celsius in the Namib Desert. It is advised to visit Namibia during the warm, sunny and dry winter months (April to October). However, don’t forget to pack some warm clothes for the cool and sometimes frosty desert nights. |
DID YOU KNOW? Although arable land accounts for only 1% of Namibia, nearly half of the population is employed in agriculture. Namibia is the second least populous country in the world. Only Mongolia has less inhabitants per area.
